My first experience with poodles was over 20 years ago when there was an ad in the local paper looking for a home for a white toy poodle that had been wandering up and down the highway near Mullumbimby and had been badly treated and was very scared. Being an animal lover I couldn’t stand the thought of the poodle not being given a second chance and went to go and see him. Other people had been out to see him before we got there but he just didn’t want anything to do with them and when we arrived he came straight out and even had his tail wagging. So of course we came home with the poor little fellow and named him Shadow as he was everywhere we were. After that I then purchased our first registered puppy and she had some nice dogs in her background so I mated her and then decided to show one of the puppies and got his Australian Championship. Since those humble beginings many years ago I have shown and titled over 16 toy poodle champions including Best in show and Group winners plus other Silkyelk Toys have been titled by others. I appreciate the knowledge, help and guidance from other breeders helping to improve my lines to produce poodles that have great temperaments, confirmation and presence in the show ring and also making wonderful companions and loving pets. They have all been PRA tested and are Pattern A Normal/Clear. .
